Rechargeable aerosol can

Found this at Harbor Freight. I was there looking for Preval Sprayers, and they only had the charging bottles, not the glass liquid bottles. Then I stumbled on this. As soon as I got home I filled it with water and the recommended 50psi of air, and to my surprise, it works well. It comes with 4 tips, 3 spray patterns, and one jet with a tube (like carb cleaner).

So, for some of you that have the need to spray small amounts of chemicals or paint, and don't want to invest in the expensive air paint guns and big compressors, not to mention the cleanup, this seems to be a good option.

uhhh okay...I understand...my question is since it is refillable and all....lets say you use it for one thing....and then you want to use it for something totally different.....how do you clean it then????

The top unscrews and you can wash it out. I have been considering these for a little while now, because buying wd40 by the gallon is way cheaper than by the can.

Yeah, the top unscews. It also states that there is a relief valve in case you overfill it. It's set to 90psi.

thanks for the info on that, been cosidering the exact same thing from harbor freight.
I used to have one from Wurth many years ago, worked great for break clean(the old kill the ozone stuff, that should tell you how long ago) any ways worked well untill... someone stole it

Sorry for making such a short blanket statement....I was in a rush to get out the door.....
The nozzle mechanism drives me nuts....very poor tolerances which makes the nozzle attachment push skew and break. The little plastic straw was so brittle that it cracked as soon as I tried to push it into the nozzle. The shraeder valve leaked from the get go...I did manage to get it pretty much sealed after messing with it.....I think I have spend a ratio of 3:1 messing with it : using it.....maybe I just got a bad one.....

Probably, then again, its harbor freight, so you never know. QC on thier stuff is CHIT! You cant expect much, but does it get the job done? Im not gunnabe making a living using it.

The little plastic straw was so brittle that it cracked as soon as I tried to push it into the nozzle.

I did notice that the red jet-straw had a hard time seating in the nozzle. But I won't be using that.
No leaks on mine, yet.

I've only sprayed water as a test so far, good spray pattern. I'll post once I spray what I bought it for, PVA (polyvinyl alcohol).

I tried spraying the intended fluid tonight. I was spraying PVA, which has the consistency of motor oil. Didn't work too well. The small nozzles just shot it out in a jet, the largest nozzle did spray, but didn't atomize. So it will not work for that.
But, it does work well for fluids that have a similar consistency of water, like cleaners and such.
So, it's a decent product, but don't expect too much out of it. I'll use it for 50/50 mix of water and alcohol or for clay-barring lube. I get tired of using a manual pump when I have to use the entire bottle of liquid.

Neither for clay. I use 1/2 teaspoon of car shampoo with a bottle of water for clay.

The alcohol/water is for cleaning of fiberglass molds and other parts. And for installing 3M paint protection film.

Why in hell is Harbor Freight the FIRST place so many folks always look when wanting something that works and will keep on working? I'll never understand it.

I bought a whole box of 10 cans from Eastwood so I could give them to my customers who's cars I had painted.
I would give them a little left over paint and a printed instruction page on how to mix the paint and set up the can. It was a disaster! I gave maybe 4 or 5 cans away before they started coming back. People would spray over dirt, mud, grass and bugs, forget to mix the catalyst or sand a whole hood down to the metal expecting a 1/2 can to be enough paint.

I quickly scraped the touch up paint can idea and used the remaining cans for other things.


But, when I used the cans I thought they where pretty nifty. They would run out of air quickly but they sprayed nice. I never attempted to clean one. I only used them once and tossed them but the ones I did use where great.

I still have one I use to spray lacquer thinner to clean my spray guns. It works great for that because it will clean out the small passages and threads without the use of a harsh brush.

Depends- most automotive supply houses sell them. You can actually get it in 55 gallon drums through your bulk oil distributor.

I think Advance Auto may actually sell it in smaller quantities to professional accounts.

Okay, so I think I am going to go with everyone's suggestion on the Sure Shot. Now my next question- which one? I actually plan on using it for aerosolizing solvents for throttle body cleaning (and even intake induction cleaning) most of the time. I also want to be able to occasionally fill it with Ed's Red and use it for spraying penetrating solvent.

What is their definition of aerosol? Mine was that it was just liquid droplets that had been atomized. Does this mean that the product below just shoots a jet? Or are they taking it to mean it doesn't require an aerosol propellant? Or that it shouldn't be used to spray flammable solvents. Either way, I guess I am out on this first one.

I think I got mine from Northern Tool 10 years ago. Not sure if they will have it.

You might want to price out the cost difference in bulk brake cleaner vs. spray cans. When I compared low volume like 1 gallon containers, the price difference was hardly worth it.

non areosol would be a stream, the areosol kind comes with lots of different tips for patterns and or just a stream
