Rechargeable Flashlight for car

Hey guys. Looking for suggestions on a rechargeable flashlight I can wire into the vehicle and mount somewhere. I have a streamlight stinger LED that I mounted to my toolbox. Looking for something similar or better. $130 or less. Thanks!

Nothing unique about it. For under $20 it's got good power (but not great color accuracy), the recharge port is covered on the side of the light. Many similar lights on Amazon.

I'm looking to use the light of I'm out and need to spot something, like say a lost pet. Vehicle repairs. Walking, etc. There streamlight pretty much ticks all the boxes but I was wondering what other similar options were out there.

One of my favorites is the stream light knucklehead rechargeable. I know there are much brighter lights or lights with a longer throw beam, but the Knucklehead is just such a useful design. They’re $150 on amazon. So a little above your price range, but I think it would be worth consideration.

Yes, similar idea. I'd like to mount it in the vehicle and hard wire the charger (which will probably have a cig plug on the end) into the vehicle for a clean looking install. This is what I currently have and am looking for similar or better.

Nitecore R25 looks very similar the the Fenix suggestion.
Unfortunately you pay a lot for the dock. Actually the Magtac rechargable is a nice light. The lumens aren't as high but my 310 lumen Magtac shines just as far as my 1000 lumen light. It's just got a narrower center and less spill. The biggest time that matters is if I'm flooding a local area. No issue when searching at a distance.

Convoy S2+ with U2-1A LED's and (8) 7135 drivers. Cost less than $20. Runs on 18650 Li-Ion batteries. Programmable modes (high/med/low, strobe, sos, etc). About 1000 lumens which is BRIGHT. I doubt you can go wrong with Streamlight. Yes expensive, but you already have one and didn't list any complaints with it. Mine has taken quite some abuse and keeps on going. Heck, even the local SnapOn truck has streamlight on the truck, and does the warranty process with them, though mine was purchased long before I forged a relationship with the local SnapOn guy, and I've never had issues requiring warranty.

I know this is not what you asked for but I carry a backpack with me mainly for work. I got a flashlight for my backpack it's not rechargeable, but I carry it everyday and have my had to change the batteries yet. I haven't owned it long but haven't had any problems with it. It's already been extremely useful, it's not super bright but bright enough. The flashlight actually bends into small places that might not get illuminated with standard flashlights or stoplights. Not expensive either

Streamlight Stinger HL (piggyback charger with extra battery and ac/DC adapter included).

Fenix rc20 (AC adapter or USB charge)

Magoite ml150lr (ac & DC charge adapter included)

Which would you guys choose? If the Fenix, how do I wire in nicely from the USB cable? I'd like to mount the light to the kick panel by my knee and wire the charger into the vehicle on switched power. The streamlight and maglite would make that simple enough. Opinions welcome. These lights are all $100+ so I want to buy the right one the first time lol. I'd be happy with all of them hence me asking for opinions!

I've been using one like this for about 6 years and it never let's me down. Not big enough to go spotting with but it'll do anything around the car. And less trouble to install.

Of those probably the Fenix but I'm really not sure. The Fenix is the only one that uses a Li-ion battery but that might not be such a big deal. All of them are bigger than I would prefer but that preference is application specific. I happen to like the ~1" diameter, ~6" long lights. They aren't the best if range is your need but otherwise the small size is really nice. All of these are bigger than I would prefer. I do have a Maglite ML50 (3C cell). I don't use it much since most of the time the smaller lights are easier and I don't need the long reach. However, if you do need to see something far away Maglites are still great since they tend to have a brighter hot spot vs a more flood like output.

BTW, an off the wall suggestion (but one without a dock) would be something like the Stanley Fatmax spotlight (or B&D equivalent).

You could always make life easy, and say - buy an m12 flashlight, and just keep an extra battery in the car.. the lithium batteries will hold a charge for over a year with very little self discharge.. milwaukee even has m12 charger that will charge of a USB port now if your worried about keeping everting in the car.

Napa sells a rechargeable led flashlight for 20-25 bucks that has a twist to change beam from narrow to wide and is really bright. For the money you cant beat them. I can get you the part number if you want. I have 3 of them. Too big to carry in pocket but perfect for the shop or car.

You can't go wrong with Nitecore or Olight....
Stay away from from the tool manufactures lights.You will find a much brighter light for less $$.I would look for a light with a 18650 battery.

I ordered the olight. I guess we'll see how it goes. I like that I can have the DC charger in my car and the AC charger inside and an adapter plate in each location so all I need to bring is the light and the dock. It'll be multi purpose.

I have a WissBlue 18650 I picked up earlier this year...I lOVE that light! Only thing it doesn't have is a lanyard which really isn't a dealbreaker given its other attributes.

It's great if you're trying to reproduce daylight in your neighborhood lol. I like it, it's just not an EDC type light. I would have rather gone with the streamlight stinger LED (which I have had for years on my toolbox) to be totally honest. But I can't complain! It's worked where I needed it and it's robust
