I helped re-tin a lady's roof back in the summer, and she gave me the old roofing material. It's 4x12 sheets of aluminum. Looks like regular 3v roofing tin except it's lighter weight and is sort of textured/dimpled.

Anyhow, I'm going to use this for my ceiling in my 24x30 pole barn shop. Initially I had thought about just putting it up "as is", but lately I've thought about painting it. Reason being, some of the tin has some roofing tar on it where they tried to seal some seams or something.

So now I'm toying with these options:

1) Put it up "as is" and go for the dull aluminum look.
2) Paint it white to make it look like a newer material, and brighten up the place.
3) Paint it black, or black/brown/rusty, to give it a distressed look.

Any thoughts about overall look, and or pros/cons?

Thanks!!!
