Recognize this tool logo? SOLVED: American Forge by Litton

I've looked everywhere, even tried a Google image search, nada. Thanks in advance for any help in identifying this logo.

The tools are marked "USA". I think the 2 streams of metal and 2 stars must have some meaning.

What kind of tools? Hand tools? That logo looks like 70s or 80s to me. Or later. Not earlier.

Sockets, as far as I can tell. I bought the inventory of an old tool store out and most of it was around the 70-80's, with some a little older, some a little newer. I'm still going through everything. Here are some photos of the sets the sockets are in. Its a very odd holder design. It sort of looks like a bottle cap opener on the end, but its too narrow.

It's American Forge brand. Basically the same drive tools as New Britain, made under the Litton ownership. The 1/4" thumb wheel ratchet is missing out of that handle.

Makes perfect sense - and I would be hard pressed to think of a more literal logo. It's downright hieroglyphic.

I believe there's a connection there, but I think that American Forge & Foundry was using the 'eagle' logo on their stuff... somewhat a gray area there. WhatChaMaCallItTools in Oklahoma City has a considerable amount of NOS AFF product on the shelf. The little Litton "Pocket Socket" shows up on ebay now and then. Not ALL of their product was manufactured domestically.

New Britain aficionados will recognize the Kilness patent number here.

American Forge & Foundry switched gears when they merged with Sellstrom and now offers a completely different product mix.
