I've worked construction my entire adult life, and 9 times out of 10 when I see a jigsaw on the job its a barrel grip Bosch, and usually those same guys have Dewalt cordless drills.
I will saw, I bought a battery powered Ridgid jigsaw like 10 years ago, and I loved that thing. Not dragging a cord around made the cuts a lot easier IMO, even though the actual saw itself was bulkier. Cordless jigsaws are typically just as powerful as corded ones. Depends on which batteries you already have. Unfortunately I'm invested in Makita and for some reason their cordless jigsaws are $200+ for the bare tool.
