Hello, I was looking for a set of long torx and hex(mm) bits for impact driver use and all i can really find are chinese bits with a made up brand. I was hoping for wera bondhus etc.

Also who make the toughest 1/2" drive torx bits? The cheap ones break far too easy.

Thanks,

For long Torx and hex impact I would probably go for KoKen. They are about the toughest out there, and if you go for the two piece style, there are a choice of 3 lengths. Availability might be better for me than yourself though.

For non impact 1/2 inch drive Torx it’s probably KoKen again, or Hazet. I have both, and rate both highly.

Bondhus are generally good too. I have some of their stuff and it’s great. Perhaps the better value option in the U.S. provide they offer what you need

Unfortunately, unlike socket wrenches, where you can get cheap ones that work reasonably well, the cheap Torx and hex always seem to twist or break easily.

kctool has some 6" torx powerbits from wera, but they are not impact rated. I assume these are what you mean by quick-change.... if you're using them on a small 1/4" hex impact driver then I doubt you'd have a problem, even without them being impact rated.

I also found some from Bosch on amazon that are impact rated, but I believe they only have t25 and maybe one other size.

I use the bits out of picquic and Milwaukee multi bit screwdrivers. Picquic are 3” and Milwaukee 3.5” long. I use both in a 20v dewalt impact, primarily the torx for working on can am and Polaris. Both are holding up fine but the bolts are usually not anything super tight.

it would be better to impact them straight in like an air hammer rather than in a circle.
The "shake and break" does that.

That is incredibly cool! I've used the impact drivers and they work sometimes but when the screw is really stuck in there the spring just ends up twisting without the screw coming loose.
