recommend a good 3/4 " Particulate Filter

i am in need of a 3/4 " Particulate Filter for my champion compressor and i have been out of the loop on filters for quite a while what i need is a 5 micron in a 3/4 npt what are some good brands and what brands do i need to stay away from as i do not want to cheap out all help greatly appreciated thanks

Norgren, Balston, Domnick Hunter, and most of the compressor branded filters are pretty good since they are often re-badged Domnick Hunter.

Nothing I'd expressly stay away from, except those no-name Chinese Wilkerson knock-offs you could get at Princess Auto, and even they might perform ok. I'm not sure if Watts is still in the business, but they seemed to be very widely available and not too pricey.

The only thing I wouldn't buy is a filter with just a plastic element bowl. I'd insist on either a metal bowl, or a plastic bowl with a metal cover over it. An autodrain would also be a must.

I'd get something name brand with a local source of replacement filter elements.

thank you i ordered a norgren one and i do like their filter design much better than the other cheap designs and that is why i wanted to ask as i have never heard of norgren brand thanks again

thank you i ordered a norgren one and i do like their filter design much better than the other cheap designs and that is why i wanted to ask what is a good brand as i never norgren brand existed that is what i get for not keeping up with the times i guess lol thanks again for the reply
