Recommend a heater

Concerned grandpa here.

My daughter's family is expanding so they have re-finished the basement as family room/play room. The problem is the temperature down there is about 62 despite adding insulation along the rim joist (thermal imaging showed that area as a large heat loss).

Electric space heaters are okay, but it will take a couple of them (expensive to operate) to warm the room up and 2 heaters will trip the 15A breaker. (I'm going to take a HD extension cord over there and see if the outlet the other room is on a different circuit.)

There is natural gas in the house. Can any one recommend a wall heater that can be vented via PVC pipe ?

Is a Big Buddy heater (with an O2 sensor) a reasonable alternative INSIDE of a house with little kids ?

Only in an emergency would I recommend Big Buddy for indoor heating. I've used Big Buddy heater with hose to BBQ size propane tank indoors on temporary basis and it was safe since it has low oxygen sensor. However, that sucker gets real hot as it's capable of 18,000 Btu which worries me if kids are around. With proper adult supervision, they could get by "in a pinch" with the Big Buddy, but I would not recommend it for long-term solution.

If venting of NG heater is problem, maybe one of those electric infrared heaters would be better down there? I'd try one of those way before space heater or oil-filled electric heaters which are energy hog and fire hazard in my opinion.

that may be the best solution.. run an air duct to that location.
