I have a Nitecore and a Klarus battery charger but neither will charge a D battery (bay is not big enough). Would like something of good quality. Would prefer a recommendation from someone who has real world experience with said unit. Thanks in advance.

Ummmm yeah. Or I wouldn't have asked. I use

Tenergy 10100 D-cell

In his defense, you didn't specify a battery chemistry. And you still haven't specified how many cells you need to charge simultaneously, if you're okay with magnetic leads, etc.

Assuming your number is no more than 4, and you want traditional bays, this one is popular. I have used other chargers and batteries from EBL and been satisfied.

Can't speak to quality bit this is the charger sold by that battery company:https://www.amazon.com/Tenergy-Batt...Automatic/dp/B078NJJCJ9/?tag=atomicindus08-20
We have this one at work.

Here is their page for it, slightly more $$

No complaints, don't use it much, but seems quite competent. I charge Single D cells on it, as that's what my equipment uses.

its mildly annoying that my both my Opus and Nitecore D2 can't fit D cell NIMHs or 21700s. I've been getting by with some magnetic test leads for now as I am worried they will just keep upsizing batteries and soon enough I'll have a horde of battery chargers in addition to one too many "free" Milwaukee M12 chargers.

Yep, how many D cells do you need to charge and is it pretty frequent? My temporary solution isn't that great if charging in volume. Have also batted back and forth on modifying the charger tabs themselves.

I use EBL products for all my battery and charging needs. Although ... I have not seen a D cell in over 20 years. I sold all my Mag Lights at a yard sale when I switched to Lithium LED flashlights.
Thank you! I buy them at yard sales from guys like you all the time. I have close to 30 of them. I can't stop buying them...Sure there are lighter and brighter flash lights, but I can't resist paying a buck or 50 cents for these things when I find them.

It's an addiction, and they just work, unlike half the LED and USB charged lights I have that burn out, or quit when I need them.

Wish there would have been rechargeable batteries back when I was with a former girlfriend many, many years ago. She went through D cell batteries like there was no tomorrow.

I sold 5 or 6 massive mag lights to one guy for $20 cash... I wouldn't budge... I knew I had him when he fondled the barrel like it was a woman's leg.

I got sick of leaking batteries and dull light. None of my two dozen+ led lights have failed me... at least since I switched to rechargeable.
