Recommend a replacement for the brake cleaner I can't get anymore.

So for decades, I've been buying 5-gallon cans of CRC non-Chlorinated brake cleaner and putting it in my Sure Shot sprayer for a general-purpose auto shop cleaner and degreaser. When I killed my last 5-gallon can, I found I couldn't get them anymore but one local store had 1-gallon jugs, which was good enough. Unfortunately, I bought the chlorinated CRC this time and, while it seems to do OK with brake dust, it's absolutely useless for general-purpose degreasing and cleaning of parts. When I tried to buy the green-label non-chlorinated stuff, the store claims it's restricted in my state now.

So, what I can use that's:

1) Able to be used in a Sure Shot sprayer

2) Fully evaporates, no need to wipe it off or rinse it off

3) Will work as the old CRC Brakleen for brake cleaning, oil removal, anti-seize removal, degreasing, etc

Any suggestions?

I have been using the Carquest Wearever W5090 at the shop but I dont know if it is available in bulk. It works pretty decent and evaporates fast with no residue. I think it is mostly alcohol.

actually it is like 80-90% acetone per the SDS
then heptane & carbon dioxide

I use the W7340 here, good stuff and does the job the W5090 is not readily available around here, and i do NOT use the Chlorinated version !!

I also use the CarQuest branded stuff now. Couldn't tell you the part number though....I didn't know they had different versions of it. If it is available in 5 gallon cans I would suggest it. Next best thing I've found to the 3M that is just too expensive anymore.

I gave up on CRC 10 or 15 years ago when something with their formula changed and it was never the same. I still buy a few cases of it here and there to see if anything has changed over the years but I'm always disappointed.

You need to talk colors. The red stuff works great for me for everything including disintegrating latex gloves.
