Purchased a decent Craftsman welder two years back in anticipation I will one day use it. I learn best by seeing someone show how to do. Anyone know of training DVD that shows how to use a welder, etc...

Trying to learn welding from a video is like trying to learn martial arts from a video....

You can learn from a video. Obviously you gotta do the hands on stuff to implement what is on the video and practice, practice, practice. If you wanna learn welding and don't have the time and or money to attend a school, it is my opinion that videos are a great alternative. As with everything else, if you have that "will to learn", determination, and willingness to practice, you can do it.

My hopes is I can learn all the basics to restore my old VWs rather than pay someone to do for me. So, I will weld and do body work and learn all this as I go. Asking questions here and there, reading books, and yes, watching videos. Not saying I will become a "black belt" on autowerks, but I will learn and do the best I can do.
