Recommend me a floor jack

Looking to get a new floor jack. I'm looking for a low profile, long reach, high jacking jack. Preferably with quick pump. I've bought a few HF jacks the past decade and have increasingly become dissatisfied with them, primarily their release mechanism.

I've considered the HF Daytona lineup but again, I'm not thrilled with their release mechanism.

I'm currently looking at the AC Hydraulics DK13HLQ which is pricey but the release APPEARS to be better than the HF units. Does anybody know if this is actually the case or not and how it will wear over time? I'd prefer something that goes even lower (or less expensive, lol) so would love to hear any other alternatives.

The AC jack is very good. The long reach and high lift are great. Most people that own one are happy with them, including myself.

If the specs meet your needs, go for it.

Daytona and Pittsburgh are hard to beat. What exactly do you mean by release mechanism? All the ones I’ve seen are the same. I’ve also heard really good things about Hein-Werner as well. I believe they are USA made. At all the jobs I’ve had we’ve had Pittsburgh and Daytona exclusively and they have been outstanding and you can get different colors which is important to me. I have the Daytona 3 ton at home and I’ve used it a lot and hasn’t let me down.

Blake - I mean when lowering the jack. Sometimes I can get a real nice and easy drop, othertimes it just plummets down. I've gone so far as marking the handle to where it locks and marking when I should expect to see it start to lower. It's really inconsistent and kind of a hazard honestly. So much so that I'm hesitant to use them at times, thus the search for a new jack.

Maybe if I can find someone around that has one lol . All my buddies shops have the HF jacks as well they are the best bang for the buck for sure. Some of them have old USA Craftsman ones too.

Ok, went ahead and pulled the trigger on it. The wife has been hearing me complaining about my jacks for well over a year now and she said it'd be an early Father's day gift!!

The Danish AC jack is nowhere near the best bang for the buck, and you do not need it. But you might "need" it. It's the Snappy (or Nepros) of freakin' floor jacks.

I have a Norco jack and an old Craftsman Al jack BTW. I can't stop my ratchet lust, but I have drawn the line on floor jacks! "A man's got to know his limitations"

I hear you on the cost. This is one of the larger expenditures I've spent on a single tool (and for a floor jack!) but tired of sweating bullets when trying to lower the car onto jack stands. "Almost...almost...KER-THUNK!" So scared that I don't line up the stands juuust right one day and then KER-THUNK! there goes the jack stand into the car body.

Hopefully, this new awesome jack will be the last one I ever have to buy.

The AC Jacks have a different way that they release. I had to get use to how sensitive it is but within a few uses I got the hang of it.
