Ok, so we have this track home/mass production house that Shae Homes build for us in 2004.. can't complain, it's nice for a mass production home, but even with me demanding all kinds of improved quality items and hardware when they were building it, there was a lot that slipped by. One thing that I really hate is the loud and ineffective bathroom/laundry room vent fans.. they seem cheap and loud to me.

Anyone recommend a relatively easy (DIY) replacement for these? They look to be standard sized square (maybe 10").

Just Booted above is showing Nutone fixtures. I recommend Nutone also. The QT series are whisper quiet and work well. Not like the noisy builders specials.
Look around, there are many styles and options available. Fan, light, night light, heat, etc, .

I use Radon vent fans. Remote mount them in the attic and add a speed control along with the standard light switch type on off switch. All you hear is the sound of air moving. No buzzing, no motor and no fan sound. At full speed they will pull a lot more air than a standard chopper or squirrel cage wheel bath fan and clear a fully stunk out bathroom on no time. They also are fully resistant to water vapor from the shower.

would love that, but it's prolly more of a job that I want to do for this project.

thanks
