I am looking to buy a new U.S. made floor jack for general use. I do not need a low profile type jack as none of my vehicles are really low. I would like a well made 3-4 ton jack. I have read about Weaver (US Jack), Milwaukee, and Hein Werner. How would these 3 brands rank as far as durability/reliability? Are there any other U.S. made brands I should consider?
Thanks
All three are good choices. The Hein Werner will be your cheapest option, but realize that the company is foreign owned. The Weaver is only available in a long frame design, so this might be a bit of a pain to use if needed for the home garage. This leaves the Milwaukee, the company is U.S. owned and their jacks have always been manufactured in the U.S.
I personally own a Milwaukee model 40 and use it in a home garage setting. It appears to be well built and I like the removable "T" handle design. I'm pretty sure it will be fully functioning when my grandchildren inherit it.
