Recommend me a tool cart/ workbench

I have a small one car garage and I have little space for a work bench. I looking to find a heavy duty tool cart that is reinforced with locking casters. Something that can take about 200lbs of weight on the top.

This way I can roll it into the corner when not in use. I have 4 feet of space left in my garage ..... :lol_hitti

I didn't respond after you first posted as I don't have any firsthand experience with what you're looking for, but since no one else has responded, Harbor Freight has a 3 drawer cart on sale right now for $199.

i've seen some with drawers on the side and a small work bench on top on craigslist.org

i feel like a craigslist.org spokesman but i've seen just about EVERYTHING all of us here want for our shops......and usually at great prices....

I have a Matco black cart; I like it but it is also made in China .. :( no where in the catalog did it say where it was made ...

I reread the HF add last night, they said the cart capacity was 700#. It did have a metal top that folded down, I'd think you could put a piece of plywood or some thicker steel on it to be able to use the top as a bench.

I saw that too, looks good. I dont know about HF boxes and carts though. I had a friend with the big red box. He had some hammers and drills in the bottom drawer, nothing too heavy. The bottom of the drawer fell out :shocking:

I haven't had a chance to get to Harbor Freight because the nearest one is an hour and a half from me, but, I'm really wanting to take a look at that tool cart. I've been looking at it for some time. I think it was 219.00 until the last flyer came out at 199.00. You can use a 15% off coupon also. I would think it would be OK at 700 lbs. weight limit.

I made my down and dirty one from the 3 drawer end of one of those old steel office desks. (The silver, rounded corner ones, not the black ones with the walnut Formica tops.) I don't think anyone makes them that strong anymore.
Take the legs off and replace with a piece of plywood and some casters.
Double 3/4 inch ply for a top, and you are off and running.
I think my final top dimensions are 20 x 32. A good thick coat of white paint before the first use will make it easier to see things later on.
I can put my toolbox on top to roll it around, and it still fits under my workbench. The 3 drawers are great for long stuff like breaker bars, toque wrenches, etc.
Mine will support me with ease, and I go just over 300 LBS.

I picked up 2 of these at Sams Club last week, about $300 each & the required 4ft long if you leave the handles off both ends.
1.5in thick Maple top, stainless front, 20in deep & 37.5 in tall.

You need to get a webhosted photo page account. There's several out there, most are free as well. I don't recommend Yahoo photo, they don't allow you to link to the page for posts. Flickr is one, but there are several others out there. I forgot which one it is but when you upload your pictures it resizes them automatically. I'm sure some one will chime in with the name.

I went to the "hints" And didn't understand the way for "attachments"
Why can't we just "insert" a pic???

WTF? I've never given them a CC number & never had to tick any boxes..:confused:
