I recently acquired this Sears Craftsmen portable compressor for free! I want to replace my noisy oil-less model with this new compressor, but I need to replace the gas engine with an electric motor.

Can anyone advise the specs for the electric motor and pulley diameter I should use?

Also, does anyone have any info on the twin cylinder compressor (maybe an online manual)? I believe it is made by Devibliss as indicated on the backside of the tank (built in 1984).

Any idea what the max psi the compressor is capable of safely reaching? I plan to replace the pressure switch anyway.

Thanks in advance!

That particular DeVilbiss pump can do about 115 psi if it's in good condition. I had the exact same pump on a Sears compressor I bought new in 1984 with a 1 HP GE motor.
