In hindsight, I should have run all my Romex close to the eaves as possible during rough-in of electrical. Now I want to use all the space in my 30' X 42' garage and extend the 16' X 42' loft by maximizing space behind the knee wall for additional storage. The left knee wall was not an issue, I added subfloor to gain storage space. However, the right-side knee wall has Romex running over joist to the main panel. This has left me with three possible Courses of Action:
1. Notch the joist with a router to store the wire, cover with metal strap then add subfloor.
2. Raise the floor by sistering 2 x 10 to the joist then add sub-floor.
3. Reroute all the electrical wire into junction boxes. (Least preferred option)
4. Do nothing, enjoy the space you have.
