If you're after the best it's probably reelcraft or cox reels

Once you look at the prices, I have a Husky and a Bayco at work that both work just fine. Caveat being they are both 14/3 and it gets hard to find a good 12/3 at a decent price in my experience

What you wanna do with it? I got a couple little Dayton things that work great. Got 16 cord but really only use them for grinders and occasional battery charger.

I have both. The drawback with cox is that you have to be able to hear the clicking to get the reel to stop retracting.

reelcraft doesn't have that problem. pull it out and slowly let it back in and it's sets itself.
That's why Reelcraft is my favorite.

reelcraft also makes hubbel reels.

If you want high quality reels, Appleton Reelite, or Molex, are it, but are expensive, eBay has some but still high priced. When I say expensive, I mean really, really expensive, **** your pants when you see how much...

I crapped my pants. Good grief, and I thought Cox Reels were expensive!

Thanks for feedback.
I had no idea one could pay that amount of money for a retractable extension cord. But you get what you pay for. One complaint I found one Bayco model was it has a one-time fuse that cannot be reset/serviced. (That was an Amazon review for what it's worth.)

LOL...Big boy industrial toys are built stout and for hard use. Lots of industries will pay for it, as downtime costs can out pace the purchase price in a hurry. I've been involved in some projects where we were being billed $50k/ per hour we had the facility booked, even if we were not there... Makes everyone involved pay attention to getting our stuff done and as little downtime as possible.

I have two. One is a Bayco, that is a pos. I don't believe it has ever rewound without me "helping" it along. The other is a Flexzilla. That one seems pretty nice, but I haven't had it long enough to decide if it was worth the $80 I paid for it. I personally don't care for the three way receptacle on the end. It gets caught on everything when rewinding. Gonna get a new cord end put on one of these days.

Ha! This is precisely why I went with the Lumapro... it has a slender streamlined outlet that should be less to prone to hangups! It does seem that Reelcraft and Cox appear to be the real industrial go to options.

All 4 of my Baycos were take-outs from a shop for not retracting without help. They each had 50’of true 12 gauge wire in them and unless perfectly rewound will not fit in the housing. I took each one apart and removed 10’ of wire on the spool end, they retract perfectly now. They were only 6 months old and they were free from an electrician friend so I did not mind modifying them. Bayco must have caught on because they now make the same reel with only 40’ of wire.
