What are the goods ones out there?

I want a cordless polisher/sander that I can occasionally use for polishing off scratches on my car.

Currently my cordless tools are: Ingersoll-Rand W5132 (3/8") and W7150(1/2") impact wrenches, Craftsman Nextec drill. "platform" is not really a concern, because it only involves a charger, batteries won't last forever anyway.

I'm looking at Ingersoll Rand 12v G1621:

Any good?

I have the Milwaukee M12 three inch polisher and use it quite often for small areas. I use it multiple times a week on refinished auto wheels and auto refinishing. It's very handy and easy to use vs a full size 7-9 inch unit, that I avoid using since I have purchased the Milwaukee

Also looks like the IR tops out at 7600 while Milwaukee claims 8300.

I know nothing of IR's battery line but if they're not offering a 6.0 12V I'd seriously consider Milwaukee just for this reason. This tool in particular noticeably suffers at 1/2 charge and below (I use mine a lot so I notice these things), and the 6.0 was a fantastic investment for me.

I have the Milwaukee M12 and while it's a nice polished I was hoping to use it as a sander to strip some paint off and old cart. The bad news is that it uses a very strange M9 thread on the chuck. I searched high and low for an adapter or even some bolts to use so I can adapt the polisher to do other duties. I'm almost to the point where I might just tap it out to 10mm or larger.

Oh and the M9 thread appears to be almost exclusively a pen (as in writing pen) thing for high end pens that thread apart. Weird.
