Recommendations for 2 Car Gas Heater

This is my first post so go easy on me. I will get to the point fast.

2 car (20x20) detached Garage 8 ft ceiling. Insulated with r-11 and vapor barrier all around. Mold resistant drywall. No garage door insulation yet. I am in Michigan so it gets cold in the winter. Planning on wrenching on the fun cars over the winter. Garage will only be heated for a 6-8 hours at a time.

I have a gas line ran already. I am looking for a gas vented heater to hang. Does not need to be overkill or top of the line.

Any input is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

45 k Beacon Morris from Menards.

They also started carrying a cheaper brand to supplement the BM line.

Thank you for the reply finn. I like that option. Do you have any personal experience with it?

Our weather in South Carolina is very different but I wouldn't trade my mini-split for anything [emoji1]. I use the AC more than the heat though !

Those are really nice. I thought about picking up a unit from a hotel that was updating their units. AC would be nice to have but here we are in the middle of May and the high today is only 65. I cant justify running AC in my garage when I only run it a few weeks a year in the house lol.

While looking up the Menards beacon morris 45k unit I found a nice short YouTube series that does a great job at detailing the install.

I have one in 24x36 well insulated shop/garage in central Wisconsin works well, easy install. I keep it 50* and when working 60-65*.

I've got two 75k units: one in a 32'x54' garage with 10' and 12' ceilings and another providing supplemental heat to bring the temp to working temp in a 32'x75' area of my shop (16' ceilings). I use in floor radiant to keep that shop at 42 degrees and the BM hanging heater to bring it to 60 when I'm working there.

Neither unit is terribly old, but I got immediate service from them when I had an installation question.

Beware of the hotel heat/cool units. Most of them are a/c with electric resistance heat which would cost too much to operate. Gas sounds good to me!
