Another vote for the DeWalt bag!
If I had to buy another bag, DeWalt is where Im spending it!
Dewalt is made by CLC
I've got a CLC 1537 that's been my main service bag for three years. It's got some paint on it and lots of dust but otherwise still as good as the day I bought it.
The AWP bags from lowes are pretty good too. I've got an open top bag I use for plumbing tools that's probably close to 8 years old. No complaints.
Tool bags are very user dependent and task dependent. A bag to carry HVAC service tools will be laid out differently than a general service tool bag.
Also it's generally better to have several task specific bags than one giant one. These things get heavy really fast.
On my truck I keep a general tool bag (CLC 1537) it's a mix of carpentry and maintenance tools. Plumbing bag (AWP 1L-22218-HP), electrical bag (AWP 3L-2212), a generic 13 inch dewalt bag that came with a cordless drill that's full of drill bits, screwdriver bits, drill accessories, and several Harbor Freight 11 inch 61835 bags with miscellaneous tools.
Also don't discredit the traditional hand carry metal and plastic boxes they are very durable and work great for alot of stuff that's not tool bag friendly. Large wrenches, pipe wrenches, hack saws, and such
Its took about 10 years of trail and error to settle on this setup but for my work flow and type work I do it works well.
