been meaning to ask what you ended up ordering for a stripper in smaller sizes? I know you mentioned Pressmaster, did you get one or ?
I do know Pressmaster sells the Tor which looks unconventional but strips large gauge wire, up to 1.57" dia
That looks very similar to the Jokari.
Late last year, I picked up a Chinese knockoff of one of these swivel knives. I found it totally unusable. The knife would never be facing where I needed it, and bent so much that I could never tell if it would barely scar the insulation or be cutting into copper. It was always doing the limbo away from wherever I needed it.
When I took it apart, I saw two issues. The blade swiveled in and was supported by only plastic, and was pretty much free to do that limbo over it's last 1/2". This seems to be a common feature of the ones that have the adjustment wheel at the heel end that shifts the knife (mine was clearly a Jokari clone). They need a lot of play to allow the knife to swivel freely.
The Pressmaster uses an adjustment nut at the top that obscures part of the blade, but the nut appears to still be plastic. The Jonard is similar, with a metal nut.
I'm thinking about picking up an Arolax. That one has a lever that fixes the blade angle:
I figure, if the blade isn't allowed to free swivel, it's adjustment is less likely to wander.
But after my experiences with the piece of junk, I may just stick with my trust hook knives.
