Alright guys as my house and garage(waiting in scheduling for that) build crawl along I'm getting prepped for the 600' of fencing I'm going to be installing. The fencing will be wood and welded wire similar to seen below.

I may end up with only the top and both boards for now depending on the budget. I have DeWalt 20v Max lineup of cordless tools. I'd like to get that brand but they are quite expensive. So what other recommendations do you have for me? I've seen some combo tools that will do both but know nothing about them. The fence will be 6ft tall to keep my dogs inside and no have use look at solid panels when enjoying the backyard. Also any recommendations for which welded wire to go with? I'm buying a one man auger since I'll have around 75 posts to set.

Thanks

The staples themselves are like 10x the cost of manually driven staples, last time I looked, so you might want to shop a little before you buy to verify the total economic / labor impact.

I did similar at my place. Since my horizonal boards are thinner, I used fence staples, heavy galvanized bent u staples on the posts, and a **** ton of stainless steel 1/2” stables from an arrow brand pneumatic stapler.

FYI the bottom of the wire fence is jacked up from the string trimmer. No matter how careful I am, I always grab it at some point. I ran some plain fence wire along the bottom of the posts an inch or so up to make everything stronger, even through the dog has shown zero interest of leaving the yard

I plan to run the lower board at the bottom of fencing to protect it and make getting under it harder.

I can only speak on air tools and as a DIYer all mine are from HF. The framing nailer has been great with no jams after several thousands nails, I have both a narrow crown and wide crown air stapler and have used the narrow crown putting weld wire on fences, worked fine. I don't recall seeing weld wire in 6 foot , I have only used 4 foot which I get at HD. you can of course get 6 foot chain link as well as 6 foot field fence ( know also as horse fence , sold at tractor supply type stores ) the price oF metal fencing ( metal anything right know ) is crazy high IMO.

Lucky you. I just saw a YouTube video showing that Milwaukee has introduced a fence stapler. Here you go:

I just did a board fence with wire. Boards are a top and bottom rail with an X in the middle. I used 5/4 x 6 decking and ripped one in half for the X . Fence is4 ft horse fence from TSC. VERY strong fence.

From what I'm reading I can use a 16 or 18 gauge staple gun for this fencing project. This is only to keep the dogs in the yard. I'll use screw for the cross boards which will also make the wire stronger. Not sure i'll be able to use a Dingo style because one side of the fence will be near my septic mound. But I did find a tow behind rolling post hole digger I can rent at Sunbelt so that maybe an option for getting all the post holes dug in a day.

Long overdue but the fence has been put up. I gave up on the original idea and instead went with welded wire. Was over 1k cheaper in materials back in Nov. I only have to install a back gate and run the section between house and future shop. After doing this basically myself I couldn't imagine doing the wood fence like we originally planned. The post hole auger was great until it got stuck in the ground. Took 45min to work it back out. Also the max it would go is about 2 1/2ft so had to dig rest out by hand.
