Hi

I have a couple of Record Vises / Vices & Im wondering which would be best to keep & which to sell? I know in an ideal world Id keep both but they'll just be used for weekend tinkering & I only have a small garage

Ones is a Record 34 & has 4 1/2" jaws & weighs about 15kg

The second is a Record 110 Heavy duty & has 4 1/2" jaws & weighs about 19kg. The 110 also has the beefier handle

Both open to around the same width of 130mm

The 34 is on the left & the 110 is on the right. Both are made in england but the jaw fixings & quick release brackets are different so Im unsure if they are of the same vintage?

Im thinking of keeping the 110 but
what would you do?

Im not sure which is the oldest or 'most desirable' & any info would be great

You are kidding right . . . . . . ???

This IS indeed GJ . . . you Keep Them BOTH !!!! :D

Install one on left side of bench, and one on right side of bench.

When you get 12 more that fill up shelf underneath bench and you have no more room in the garage . . . THEN . . . you fill up the closet where the wifey stores all those extra pairs of shoes, then get rid of kid's extra stuffed animals in their closets for more vises . . . . . . . .
. . . . . . . . . THEN . . . . . . . only then . . . . might you consider selling one !! :D . . :bounce:

I would keep both myself but the 110 is the better of the two, they are both some of the best Record made. The 110 looks to be in great condition also.

Cheers for the old catalogue link - thats interesting!

I wish I could keep both but I think Ill just keep the 110 & use the funds from the 34 for other tool goodies

What would the 34 be worth I wonder?

Theyre both in great condition & Im sure theres years of use to be had from them

NIA: I actually like the smaller one's lines better, but since they both have quick release and you've heard from a couple pros from your side of the pond either one should work fine for many years to come.

If one of those guys don't have an interest in the vise you decide to sell I think one of the members here that lives in Wales might need a good vise so let me know via a PM with a price and i'll PM him.

welcome to the group and you can post both of these with even more pictures over on the main vise thread if you have time.
