The axle broke on my enclosed trailer the other day and with the build of the garage and everything else going on, it's taken a back seat.

Now that the mulch and pole light is getting done, the trailer needs to be moved to the back and out of the yard where the rollback dropped it off.

Moving a trailer with a broken axle took a little figuring, but a little welding and a steel rod, I was able to "Fred Flintstone It" enough to move 100 yards of so.

:)Here are the pictures to show the move.:)

Pictures didn't show up...but I've been in your shoes on a 360 mile trip tandem axle trailer with a 24' pontoon boat. Fun times!

I slide the steel rod through the broke opening in the axle and had a temporary fix.

This enabled me to gently pull and back it out of the yard and around to the side of the garage until I have time to make permanent repairs.

Adam,

Wow, that would be a real bummer. I thank God everyday I think about mine, due to the fact I had it loaded to the gills and the axle broke in the guys drive way instead of pulling down the road. If I would had been driving, I would not be typing this now.

How did you get yours back and did you almost loose it when it happened?

Man that was a good quickie fix lol. As for mine luckily I was slowly pulling into a parking lot when it happened. So I managed to keep the boat on the trailer and nothing damaged. As for the temp fix, I pulled plinth wheels off the axle, took two cargo straps and strapped the axle hubs as high up as I could so nothing dragged. Then pulled as much weight off the boat as possible and threw it in the back of the truck. I then lumped it on the front axle and wheels about 250 more miles till we got to our beach house in Florida where I keep a second be set of tools.

Lol the life struggles and our temp fixes.
