While the totem pole is out getting a face lift I thought it would be a good time to start working to freshen up the bottle jacks

These are the first 2 the top shelves

The little one came apart pretty easily

The bigger one is taking a bit more persuasion.

Don always enjoy all your projects, such awesome things you do.
Quick question on your polished steel parts. After you polish them do you coat them with anything to prevent future rust? Clear coat or a wax finish?
Thanks cant wait to see it finished.

Thanks for the visit Johnno

I spray clear over the entire project after it is all assembled so I don't scratch it then it goes into the party garage for show.

I wonder how many of these totem poles were originally made?
Your project may be the only way to own one of these rare displays. I am amazed you can take a drawing from an advertisement page and create a replica. So inspiring!

I know of only one real pole and it was on Ebay with a few dimensions listed and from that information I was able to create a pattern to build one.

Thanks for the visit

This project is coming to a close soon.
I got the call I've been waiting on "My totem pole is ready to be picked up."

I brought it home this afternoon and went to work finding a place to show it off in the party garage.
After moving several pieces around I have a good spot for it

Then I placed another nice blackhawk piece above the pole

Now to finish off this display I need to restore the 9 Jacks that are shone on the jack add.

Looks really nice. I wish I was alive when these great displays and tools were new and setup in repair shops and auto parts.

Isn't that the truth! Even "simple" things like tools were built with style and built to last. People took pride in what they built and how they were sold.

Wow Don that looks awesome. Really well done, as per the usual. I noticed the writing at the top is different than the brochure, what made you choose that instead?

Thanks for sharing those kind thoughts

Superman you asked
"why the writing at the top is different than the brochure, what made you choose that instead?"

It is because the one real totem pole that I've seen had that script and logo on it

Don, That looks great! You make collecting/restoring fun for All of us!

Suggestion, since there are no manufacturer's product labels on the them, a teeny bit of black/yellow pin striping on those jacks might really pull the totem pole display together.

Again, like always, GREAT work!

Would you be willing to share the dimensions? I would like to make one myself. Thanks Josh
