I hate to shake up paint cans. So I took an old saws all blade and welded two worm clamps to it. Works great.

That is a slick idea. I never shake the cans as much as I should(too impatient). I'll being trying that one myself. I even have an old saw that is too worn to sell (auction mistake) so I can have a permanent one at the ready. Thanks for the idea. That may even be marketable.

nice, There are a couple different companies that make something similar and other gadgets for a recip saw. But its cool when you just make it with what you have on hand and dont have to spend $$.

Hells yeah it is. I just used a worn out blade, welded a small piece of old drawer slide to the blade. 1 hose clamp is all I had on hand and it works surprisingly well to hold it in place.

I built a saw stand for my recip saw so that I can mix multiple cans in the shop.
I use the Skil model 9205 corded sawsall because it's cheap ( $53. Lowes ) and it has a speed dial. Set it to low, strap the trigger down permanently w/ a velcro watch band, plug it into a switched power strip and you're automated. I have patterns for this that you can have for free. You can email me for one.

 I tried that trick not too long ago, strapped the can to the blade and started out slow, increasing the speed, feeling good about it! All of a sudden KABOOOOM, the bottom of the can let go!!! I had paint all over me, the driveway, the barn, luckily the dogs took off to do what they do!!!!!!
