I didn't watch the video but from the thumbnail, I don't get these types of battles with the two tools tied directly together. It's BS IMO & doesn't actually really tell you which tool is overall better. YT shenanigans if you ask me.
It's working though - getting those views!

I don't trust much online these days other the the torque test channel, AvE, Project Farm, etc

True that.

I don't either & even with those three it's really just more entertainment for me than real world. But at least with AvE's BOLTRs I can get a better idea of build quality.

As the OP, I agree that it's a bit silly but much in life is silly entertainment (I think many professional sports, video games, etc that others love) so this isn't much different. There are plenty of reasons to not like such entertainment but it's easy enough to move on to something that you do enjoy.

I agree, but Most people love a heads up and this scratches the itch. It’s like comparing two trucks with a tug of war. It tells me nothing about how well that truck is going to work for me, but there can only be one winner and one loser.

Yeah, it's hard to make broad generalizations like he does though. I can say for certain that the "cost savings projects" are often a shot in the dark or driven by something else - even people who have spent their whole career on a product might be surprised of the impact (or lack of) a small change does. He's not wrong though, back when everything was overbuilt, they were certainly more reliable. Maybe heavier, more expensive, and harder to use, tho.
