I noticed tonight a few red X's. I tried repeatedly to right-click/ show picture. The X would blink and then reappear.

Trying to duplicate the problem, I opened another window at the same time and tried the r/c there. Same issue. In that new window, I clicked on the particular post (the post# in the right upper corner of the post with the X). Doing so opened that post in a full-view window and the X was replaced by the photo- of a fish being hooked.

Back on the original window the X was still there. I tried to refresh it several times and still an X. I closed the other window (with the fish) and back on the original the fish 'appeared' like magic. If anyone is seeing X's, give this a try.

No; Turbo Broadband. It's not every picture, just here and there. Refreshing doesn't fix it, but the OP is what worked for me. Sometimes it can be a bad file or remote hosting/ linked file that is over the limit (file servers; flickr, photoshare, etc.), or it can be the pc one is on when viewing. Hence the reason for the post is that it magically begins to work later in the same session. It could also be forum software or something on the server-side. It's not a complaint either way, just noticed this work around.

It can be frustrating when someone says "check out my pics of X" and all you can see is an X! Thought others might try it and see if it works for them. Some people report seeing red X's when I do not in a particular post. (?)

Yeah, Ya get a lot of wierd stuff from the internet and computers,
Always learning new stuff, and running into problems and reading about how to fix them or work around them.
I don't get the red X too much anymore, but if I do, sometimes reloading (refresh) , or "show picture" (reload Image in firefox) will show it.
I have been using firefox for about a year now.

That was like one time, I had pics uploaded at a forum, and I copied the picture URL location from the 1st forum, and posted the image at another forum, but no one else could see them but me, inless they were a member there too, and were logged in............LOL
