These are shallow drop in anchors designed for concrete slabs. Anyone ever use these? I plan on drilling the hole a bit deeper than the anchor, so that when i want to uninstall i can unthread the bolt and then pound the anchors into the concrete and cover it up.

I see they have a red expander insert, and my question is, can I get the bolts OUT after they've been installed? I'm worried the insert will act as a locknut and lock in the threads making it impossible to get the BOLT out (i plan on leaving the ANCHOR in).

Anyone with any experience with the anchors?

Question 2.. I've never drilled concrete slabs, how far from the edge should I be to be sure I dont crack the slab? It's 30+year old concrete in an apartment, and already has a crack or two in it that I can see.

yes once you set the anchor you can take the bolt in and out.
to set the anchor clean the hole out with a vacuum, drop it in the hole and hit the red part with a punch or setting tool with a hammer several times really hard.

you should be safe to drill a couple of inches from the edge
