redraptor's man cave **update**

As promised I'm posting pics of the progress so far on my new garage. A buddy and I started this around April and work on it about 1 day a week. It's 26 x 36 pole foundation with 4" of concrete. 30 x 40 would've been ideal but in this township if it's under 1000 sq ft you don't need a permit or inspection. Plus it would have been even more money I don't have. I ran pex in the floor already, (3 zones) and am debating gas boiler vs gas hwt. Ran out of good weather to run utilities.

How do you like having 2 individual doors? I was going to do that on my 24 x 40 but opted for 1 - 16' door. Actually kind of glad I did. Works better for me since I use it for vehicle storage. Seems easier to get in and out of.

2 works out better for me. There's a 24 x 32 at my daughters house that had a clapped out 16' door. 24 seems wide until
you have 2 vehicles side by side and try to open the doors. I thru on my old 10 footer and store my car and tools till my new garage is done.

Paint/ wash bay / daily parking on one side. Store my tractor and or golf cart on the other. I'll have a small area in the back for my bar. Partitioned off with pocket doors.
I'm replacing a 20 x 24 addition that was on my garage but is now a carport.

We started with a barn track kit from lowes and made the doors. Then used steel studding to frame up the walls on either side.

I originally drew it up to be a separate room for the larger bay mainly for painting with spray cans or occasionally bed liner material on small parts, not whole trucks. I installed an exhaust fan ducted to an outside wall. Considering the size of the building made everything else seem cramped so I devised these doors to give me the openness I want and can "seal" off the bar area and smaller bay when I paint instead of using tarps or curtain that I used in the old garage. The center door is 12' and the door by the bar is 7'.
If I had to do it over I think I would have opted for that clear corrugated roofing instead of OSB for the door panels and square tube aluminum at the wall openings for strength.
