hey guys I searched and could not find this topic being covered but what have you found to be the best for mounting(to the ground) your compressor with to reduce vibration. The compressor is a dual stage 7hp 80 gallon tank porter cable.

In a few minutes you are going to get the usual "hockey pucks" answer, but I haven't yet figured this out. Hockey pucks are hard as....... well..... hockey pucks.

I used machinery mounting pads from MSC. Neoprene with a threaded stud bonded to them.

I mounted mine on hockey pucks, they are cheap and they work great for reducing vibration. Just drill a pass through hole in center of puck to match your anchor bolts and you should be set. You should not have any problem finding hockey pucks in Canada

I used some neoprene vibration isolations mounts I purchased from Grainger. They have made a noticeable improvement. MASON Mfr. Model # 4C978

I'm going to throw in another recommendation for hockey pucks. They are made with a hard rubber, but a large compressor is very heavy.

Mine came from the store mounted on a small wooden pallet. I never removed it from the pallet. The pallet does a very good job of absorbing the vibration.

I have stopped and picked up the tread of a truck tire thrown along the road. Good rubber, free, and cuts with a jig or sawsall.

I used hard rubber stoppers from a big box home store. Drilled the centers. I installed studs in the concrete, slid a stopper over it, then the compressor then another stopper. Finish it up with a steel washer, locknut and nut. All four feet are mounted just like the top bolt of a shock absorber. Works great for me.

Cut a stall mat in half, stack the halves one on the other, set the compressor on them. Done, no vibration.

Stall mat 4ftx6ft $39.99 from tractor supply

What he said. I have a 3.5HP 60 gallon unit, it sits on three 4" square pieces of stall mat. It doesn't vibrate the floor and it has never moved. It is not bolted down.

EDIT - also, because there are no hockey pucks here. We don't do hockey.

Yep! Work great! They're not made out of stone, they're rubber, albeit dense rubber. 4 years, very little vibration and no problems.

My compressor was noisy. I bolted two carpet covered 2x4s to it, and turned it on.

Much quieter, by an order of magnitude.

I went about my way, until a while later I looked over, and found the air-compressor had 'walked' about a foot from its starting position!

Well, I thought it was a good idea!

Mine just sit on simple wood skids. Made so I can move them with pallet jack if needed.
