Running 12/2 MC cable on my garage ceiling to 4 strip lights, but the knockouts are all 3/4 on the lights.

If using a reducing washer is not legal... can i just drill new 3/8 holes in the housing for the MC conduit fittings?

The MC fittings should be 1/2", 3/8" are rather odd. 1/2" X 3/4" reducing washers are very common.


1/2" conduit size is 7/8" hole opening.

MC connectors use a 1/2" conduit hole.

Thank you both- what I get for trying to figure out diameter on home depots website. Do those fittings exist in 90*
