I just picked up this Reed 106 vise last night from an auto shop that is closing down. It's covered with grease from years of use, and despite it's appearance it's in very good shape. The jaws show almost no wear at all. It was listed with a steel bench, and I asked the seller if he would be willing to sell the vise separately. He said yes, and we agreed on a price of $75.00. This thing is a beast. It easily weighs 130 lbs.

Thanks. I wonder what they did to loosen the ball from one end of the handle? I didn't even know it was possible to take them off. That must have taken a lot of force.

That is a real stout clamper...

Restored, that vise is easily worth 6 times what you paid for it!!!!;)

I saw a Reed 106 last year at a yard sale for $350. Guess who doesn't own a Reed 106 :-(
