Reed 134 1/2A Vise??

Anyone know what model this vise is? There's 2 of these vises for sale in my area, on CL and eBay, for very high prices ($350 and $600). Are they really that valuable?

I picked 1 up last year, posted in the vise mega thread http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?p=4644091#post4644091
As to value, I wish they were worth that kind of coin, paid $25. for mine. Note that they are extremely rugged, that exposed screw is huge by vise standards, most 6" vises don't have a screw that large in diameter.
