Restoring my Reed 204 1/2
I am struck! How do you remove the large slotted fastemers to separte the static jaw.
Funny, when I purchased this vise I had no knowledge (26 years ago) of Reed quality. This one has a badge stating it was from GM>

Almost done. Next up highlight the letters.
Decided on VHT engine paint. I looked into Hammerrite (only mail order) Rustoleum ( not happy with colors).
This is THE GOLDEN ONE! LOL

Yes,Yes the GM tag I am waiting for brass rivets.
This should definitely be part of the restore.
Good eye.

That's much cooler than a GM tag. It's a Defense Plant Corp. tag, indicating that vise was likely purchased by the US Gov. as part of the industrial build up in support of the WWII war effort.
