Reed 208 vise

Anyone heard of a Reed 208 ? (Not 108). Said to have 8 1/2 inch jaws and weighs in at 320 pounds.

The picture I seen of the vise. Had Reed 208. And it was considerably bigger than the 108. I couldn't find anything on the net about it. The guy actually has a 108 too. I wouldn't have believed it but I seen the pictures.

It's interesting to know that there is a 208---a 208R, both swivel base, then there is a 108 swivel base and a 108 stationary base.


Thought this info in one place would be useful. After looking at some old catalogs ads on Ebay for Reed vises here is what I found. They had some big ones available!

Machinists vise 100 series is non-swiveling, 200 series is swivel base. Only difference in specs is weight, a 102 with a swivel would be a 202.

I measured the jaws on this 208 and the jaws are not 8.5 inches, only 8.
