Does anyone have one of these new manufacture US-made vises? The prices are priced low enough that I'm considering buying one just to show support for a vise maker who still operates at home. I've found the 4" 704 model for as low as $200 new and the 6" 706 for as low as $299. Hell, the 704 would be a US-made upgrade over the Craftsman Pro for $75, and the 706 looks like a much more stout vise than Yost's similarly priced 865. So, anybody with experience with these?

The Yost 45C, Medium Duty 4-1/2" Vise is USA made and has a street price around $325 to $350. http://www.yostvises.com/medium-dut...bination-pipe-and-bench-vise-swivel-base.html The Yost Reversible Swivel vises are also USA made. http://www.yostvises.com/mechanics-vises/multi-purpose-reversible-combination-vise.html The 6-1/2" 865-DI Reversible Vise has a street price around $300 to $350. The Reversible vises are lighter than might be expected on a 6-1/2" iron vise. I believe the body is closer in size and weight to a 4" or 4-1/2" vise with wider jaws than is typical on some USA vise designs. The body of the vises are high strength 65,000 P.S.I Ductile Iron, with replaceable jaws, toothed swivel base, etc. These are some videos on the reversible vises.

That is such a bummer...I thought for sure they were still made in Erie. Thanks for the heads up!

Yeah, Yost did tell me the 865 isn't as beefy as their other US made vises, and they recommended the 45C. Plus, I'm really not a fan of the vertical sides on the double-sided static jaw...the physics just don't work out in its favor. I'm really trying to find something with 6" jaws because there have been several occasions already where a 5" jaw opening wouldn't be enough for my needs. I'm watching CL for used ones like a hawk.
