This might be a fixed position model. I say that only because of the second hole which appears under the dynamic slide. I'm pretty sure there is a third hole on the other side of the vise which cannot be seen in the pictures. Typically fixed position vises of this type have 3 mounting holes.

Now it's entirely possible that it was converted into a fixed position vise at some point which would be easy to determine by examining the base and the hole under the dynamic slide.

Nice vise.
I believe the patent pending refers to a late 1930's patent.
The shape of the hub was changed in the 40's to a flatter shape than yours has.
