Don't get too excited. My buddy isn't selling. I did offer him $200 though. ;)

He's calling this a rail road vise. He's had it for ever, and was his father in-laws before that.

Just wondering what a rough value would be on it. Thanks.

Well all my uploads are failing. I'll try a pic later. But I'm betting you guy's know what this is. ;)

It's worth is based on its condition. If you're referring to a 4C it's 185 lbs. $200 would be a steal in my opinion. Offer him $350 for me so I can come get it lol :p

Let's see if it works like this.

He swears when he dies he's leaving everything to the Catholic Church to insure he gets into Heaven. I said that's fine. Just leave me that vise.

Cal: now this vise is worth waiting for. the Reed 4C vises are just a short step below the 8 and 9 inchers that everyone is looking for. i think one of our resident Reed experts paid close to $500 each for 2 or 3 at a warehouse purchase a while back. they had heavy duty stands under them, but i think one was even missing some parts.

if you want to find a brother (or sister) for you Wilton C1 then this would be a good choice. can't tell 100% if that is an oil or paint drip, but if there are not any welds or broken parts it's a great vise.

I'm not going to even touch the irony in that statement, but it looks like a very nice vise.

Crossing fingers that's oil. Size looks awfully big to be a crack and still be attached. Might be the pic angle but the handle might have been featured on "cheaters", not as bad as some though. I'm sure you can persuade him to part with it!

That's paint on there.

If you look close, the left front mounting tab is broke.

Would I be headed towards eternal damnation if I kinda wouldn't feel bad if he died sooner than later. J/K of course.

I saw that break and glad u brought it up. Now i can hi-jack this thread....
I been trying to find the post where a member repaired a broke mount tab by milling the area out and bolting a perfect fitting reproduced tab in its place. Can someone find that post somehow 4 me? thanks
