Got this passed down from my dad who got it from his dad. It’s reed 204 with a 124 stamped into it. Does anyone have info on the year of this vise?

Read thru this thread on Reeds and you can decide if 124 is a date stamp for 1 (Jan) 24 (1924). Being a 204 model should have a swivel base but looks to be gone. Nice shape for an old gal tho. The size of the numbers matters as if with 1/4"/larger probably more likely a casting number especially if easy to find on both static and dynamic jaw sides. The assumed date stamps tend to be small font and faint. The meatball for the handle part and other looks do support pre WW II

FYI have a Reed 104 model faintly stamped 12(Dec) 22(1922) with casting stamps of "13" in much larger font also. Lotta similarities in looks but base for mounting different since not a swivel model and has spots for three bolts to mount
