Reelcraft or Cox reels?

An alternate reality in a parallel universe.
I have two Reelcraft 4625OLP 25' 3/8" air hose reels and they do a great job, but I am planning on adding a few more reels to my garage to replace some of the plastic reels that I have, in addition I may include a few cord reels and maybe a reel for my oxy/acetylene hoses so that I don't have to keep unwrapping and wrapping them up on the tank cart.

So with that anyone who has used both brands? Is one better than the other? Cool / special features that the each brand offers?

Also anyone using reels for their welding cables? I did read that if you are going to use them for any length of time you should unspool them so you don't build heat.

I've only used Cox (I go the EZ series) and I'm getting one more. I posted a message similar to yours and if you check the archives, you might find that the discussion had some good info. Some dealers chimed in and some guys who've used both. Might be worth finding it.

I prefer Cox reels. They seem to retract better than the Reelcraft. That said, I have Reelcraft in my personal shop - got a good deal on em.

The Reelcraft cord reels are great.

I installed a pair of Reelcraft air hose reels in my garage about 17 years ago. Despite the use they've had over the years, they still perform like new.

I have a Cox reel in my shop that I use for a 100' 3/8" dual braid hydraulic hose. We use it for the pressure washer and it gets abused. It is super strong and I highly recommend it to anyone. I have never used a Reelcraft, maybe they are similar quality?
