Hello Chaps,

Thought I'd share the fruits of my labour with you as we all love a few pics of tools and workshops.

One giant piece of plywood, some red paint, primer, yacht varnish, aluminium nosing, some
steel hardware, saws, drills, files and a stupid amount of time later.... and voila...

Nice!! After building such a fine looking bench I'd be very hesitant to do any actual work on it ! Like the tool creeper too, I may steal that idea. What are its dimensions?

Cheers...

The whole thing is about 22 x 11 inches with the enclosed area about 20 x 10.5 inches
and a grab handle in the 2 inch overhang.

Must be a British thing as I crafted my tool creeper from a damaged trolley, plus a mid-sized one for a bit of storage in an otherwise dead space:

All by accident really. Ordered one of those cheapo trolleys from the bay and it arrived all bent and bashed. The second attempt was not much better, but the third was fine. I just cut them up to save the best bits as they didn't want the damaged ones back. Less than £30 plus a bit of a session with a cut-off wheel and it all worked out just fine.

Had to reinforce the shelves with ply, plus the ubiquitous fine-ribbed rubber mats:

You guys are industrious with making good use of the space you have. I guess real estate is so pricey there that the work shops are a lot smaller.

I know a local guy from the UK. He's married to an American gal here (corn fed Ohio babe). He says it's easier to be a redneck here because real estate is so much cheaper. lol. He has a huge shop. He's into old Harleys, BSA's, Triumphs, etc..

That Facom inspired work bench is great. I will have to steal the tool bin on the creeper idea. I like that.

That came out great. I like the wide drawers in the bench and tool creeper looks useful. Great job.

Nice job on all that. I think I'm most impressed by the color coordinated scheme you got going on. Just how long has that taken to amass?? Btw, I'm a major red and black fan. :)

Love your work. I also did a tool creeper some months back, how great are they. I use it every day at work in the shop and still going strong.

Thanks for the kind words Chaps...

When I bought my Toolboxes, workbenches, air compressor, grinder, jack stands,
Bench drill and vice... The only colour they came in was red, so I just rolled with it.
Good job I like red. It's allot of **** crammed in a very small space which doesn't
Help...

But I've made it my own and it's a nice place to work, but it would be lovely not to
Have to work on the car outside... Maybe one day.

I like the additional lighting. As I am discovering, good light is everything if you find yourself working on small components. It makes a big difference to the way you can work.

You're right, it makes a massive difference. I installed the Workbench lights when I first
Got them. They are actually kitchen under cabinet lights, and they make working on the
Smallest components a breeze... Well worth doing.

Nice job. I'd suggest some rubber tips on the protruding bolts on the tool creeper. Or cut them off. I'm sure I'd find a way to ram my creeper (and my head) into them.

Great job! Awesome work space!

Did you know green and red are the only complimentary colours to have equal luminance? All other complimentaries have one hot and one cold colour that blend in uneven proportions. Try adding something green in there for pleasing results, maybe the tool boards. The only problem with red and green is it can look christmasy.

Harmonious colours also work well (the ones beside red on the colour wheel) as do their complimentaries (those opposite on the colour wheel).

Just thought I'd throw this out there since you have such a dominant colour scheme.

Acorn nuts would work well on covering up the protruding bolts on the tool creeper rim

Pressed the tool creeper into service today, changing out both
Tie Rod end links. What a brilliant way to keep your tools organised.
I should have built one years ago. [emoji106]
