Refinishing Drywalled Garage Walls

I orderered my Racedeck yesterday, but my wall are beat up pretty bad and I best fix thembefore I do my floor. I was thinking about patch and paint, but would like something stronger than paint.

Has anyone sprayed Span-Tex onto garage walls? I've seen something like Span-Tex on cement walls, but not on drywall.

Any thoughts appreciated.

Span-Tex says horizontal surfaces, not sure about vertical.

I drywalled my garage and in hindsight I would recommend FRP panels or plywood or something rugged. Drywall always has to be fixed, gets banged up and is time consuming. Depends on how much of a perfectionist you are.....

I've seen a product that looks like Span-Tex on vertical surfaces. Whatever it is it is tough a hell.

Any idea what it is?
