I was looking up refrigerant leak detector. I saw one on SO website which is identical to TechnoTools. Did some research & came across YellowJacket AccuProbe UV & can detect more refrigerant types rather than just R-134a. Unless the SO/TechnoTools can detect more than 1 type of refrigerant. Any suggestions?

Are you shopping for occasional use, or frequent shop use?
Any particular budget in mind? There are lots of detectors out there, but a refrigerant detector if often not the best way to find a leak (although sometimes it is).

Soapy water and look for bubbles... I wouldn't buy a leak detector unless I had extra money burning a hole in my pocket.

I bought this one on http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0088MJTZE/ref=oh_details_o08_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Amazon a while back, its a little over 28 now. Have only used it one time on an old case tractor. There was suspicious looking ac line ( kind of dry rotted looking ) and a slow leak, that line set off the detector like crazy while no other line, the evaporator, or the condenser set it off. That line was the replaced and the ac is still working with no top off since then. Its suppose to detect pretty much every kind of refrigerant out there, I know for a fact it detects r134a and r410a.
