Update, the builder sent out the original electrical company that did the rough and finish on the build. He said there was a loose breaker and now everything is working fine. But a loose breaker doesn't make much sense since my son in law had replaced the original breaker once already and also moved the refrigerator circuit to a different stab. So I don't know what the electrician actually did, but it worked and everything appears fixed.

I have come home, from an extended absence to a power failed refrigerator and it is not a pleasant thing, to say nothing of the cost of food replacement. As others have stated, I am not buying the electricians story as the breaker and breaker insertion were reviewed.
This may be a time to consider the Leviton Smart GFCI. It will at least let you know that there has been a fault and power will not be on the load side of it. Note it is not an overall power monitor and there would have to be power on the line side in order for it to send the message to the app.
Since you really just want to know if power is present you really don't care if it is absent due to ground fault, or overload, or line break. You just want to know if there is power. You might consider one of the MySpoot devices for this task.
Of course if you have a monitored fire/intrusion system it should let you know if there is a whole house power failure, but not down to the receptacle level unless you provide such a sensor.

I am betting they did find something loose.
I had a plug that was powering a TV suddenly stop working. I followed the string of outlets back towards the panel to figure out where the power stopped. I found a wire that wasn't connected to the outlet but touching the terminal, it had been that way and powering the entertainment center for darn near 15 years. There was some slight discoloration of the terminal it was resting against and the wire, so my assumption was contact was no longer good enough to carry the load. It never did trip the AFCI though, go figure.

What a surprise. My thoughts on that matter are that they fixed AFCI nuisance tripping by making them essentially useless.

Also funny, a different circuit in that same house would trip (AFCI) almost every time we tried to use the vacuum in that room, it was also feeding the lights in that room and the adjacent bathroom. Very much a cheap builder grade house.
