Refurbished my new old vise

The head all rotates 360 degrees but the handle half will rotate by itself?is It supposed to or do I need to do another repair on it.

Cool vise! Probably missing a key that keeps the dynamic jaw lined up the "static" jaw. Look for a keyway in the parts that mate.

I didn’t get pict for some reason I did make a video I’ll make sure and post it when I get it together guys. I made a key 5 inches that I put on main slide into the channel . Now it works great doesn’t spin the front jaw separate from rear.

I haven't seen a Saginaw, MI made vise, but it reminds me of that song about the guy that goes looking for gold in Alaska. Good tune.....
