I decided to order two Proto sets: a combination set J1200H11T5 and a ratcheting set JSCRT-14S from Zoro. They should be here tomorrow so it will be interesting to see what I get.

Several of the photos at that link (ex: 3/8 or 9/16) show ASD... might depend upon size or be updated production. I know regular Proto uses it on 10-34mm sizes, not sure the imperial equivalents.

While they are made in USA, they also appear to have ASD.

I was not aware of this I have bought a few over the last few years and none of them have had the asd jaws although most have been larger than 1"

I think I will place an order for some Proto ASD wrenches. I wouldn't mind trying out their products.
I got the industrial oxide finished ones but they also have matte chrome (same forgings) and T5 full polish (slightly shorter) models. Mine have been very functional so far.

ASD does not damage fasteners, here's an example from a Facom ad:

i thought proto was tawain
No, they are a major US tool manufacturer with a long history and most of their Proto branded stuff (wrenches, sockets, ratchets, etc.) is still made here. Blackhawk COO is similar to the other sub-brands like Blue Point or Blue Power.

Because they are part of Stanley Black & Decker (Mac, Facom, Expert, Sidchrome, Usag, etc.), a few things are shared like the Facom mechanism round head ratchets.

Sorry it has taken me so long to reply.

Here are some pictures of what I got. Proto set J1200H11T5, Proto set JSCRT-14S, and Wright set 715. They all have some sort of anti-slip design, I was hoping the ratcheting wrenches wouldn't. I also prefer the Wright denim tool roll over the Proto rolls.

Very nice. You did not mess around with taking the GJ advice.
