The swivel ratchet rehandling threads on here got me on a path to the ruination of many a screwdriver.
Of course, it started with a 1/4" ratchet. Then, a bottle opener, an awl, a simple bent tip for scratching things out of deep recesses.
Then I pulled one, cut it off, and replaced the tip for a very short 3/16" straight; which I find very useful. Next came a long brush from a broken gun cleaning rod, which worked awesome for cleaning out an old nasty dipstick tube.
I added one with just a straight shaft for twisting things with a hole in them, including eye bolts.

Now Epstine Day came along and I ordered 12 more of the 3/16" huskys. They are destined for disassembly.
What else to make ???

Here are a few of mine. I have others, but this should help get the thread going. Narrow handled bit screwdriver, a 5/16" hex bit screwdriver, 1/4" hex power but short shafted bit handle, 3/8" drill chuck handle for general use, 5/32" drill chuck handle for pin vise type uses, secondary chuck handles that always have the same bit in them for reaming holes, handles for breaker bars and L handles (I find them handy quite often for general use and as a "backer wrench"), a handle mounted motorcycle side view mirror for seeing into cramped areas, a bent tip scraper, a custom tool for my 10ER Shopsmith, and a long poker with a hole drilled through the tip for feeding wire through tight areas. I made the long poker by cutting the pointer rod off of an old damaged 1/2" drive beam torque wrench, drilling a hole through the tip, and pressing the base into a handle.

I bought the flatblade, apparently the guy i got it from made it for removing or adjusting distributors. The other 3 i put together, nothing exciting.

I've swapped loads of hard handles onto ratchets, but everyone knows what they look like.

I did put an Instinct hard handle onto a ¼" Dual 80 for another member here, but don't have a pic.

Here's a quick one I forgot. I had a picture of it saved already. It's a medium sized magnetic pick up tool made by screwing a magnet to the shaft of a worn out garage sale fireplace ash scoop. The pressed on handle used to be a Proto phillips screwdriver with a worn out tip.

Years ago, I pulled a salesman's bag from the dumpster. It had screw drivers from many of the major manufacturers. They were used to compare the feel of the handles of the tools he was selling to that of the other makers.

BUT what he had done was to put a handle on BOTH sides of the screw driver! his on one side and the competition on the other. LOL we called them "handle drivers".

Alas, I no longer have an example. But we sure did get plenty of laughs out of those.

How corny is it to ask for the left handed handle driver? :lol_hitti

Really like the chuck conversion ones!
