Reinforce Garage

Hey Folks - I wanted to reinforce my 1950s garage a bit.
Im not planning to load it up with stuff just want to reinforce
joists are 2x8

Whats the most practical way to go about it?
Add collar beams?
Add metal support brackets?
Any advice is appreciated

Add more rafters/joists to tie the walls together would be the easiest I would think.

I'd just add more rafter ties (joists) like you already have like Jim greengo suggested. Maybe double the number you have now, if you are not planning on storage and only want it sturdier.
